Job description:

As the Slack Architect, you will be the strategic mind and technical anchor for our global collaboration ecosystem. You won’t just manage channels; you will design the digital workspace that connects our people, processes, and applications.

You will lead the architecture, governance, security, and integration strategy for Slack Enterprise Grid, transforming it from a chat tool into a highly automated, secure, and intelligent operating system for the company.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise collaboration engineering, with at least 2–3 years focused strictly on Slack Architecture.
  • Deep, hands-on experience designing and managing Slack Enterprise Grid at scale (10,000+ users).
  • Proficient in Javascript/Typescript or Python, with a strong understanding of Slack APIs (Web API, Events API, Bolt framework).
  • Strong knowledge of Identity Providers (IdP) like Okta, Azure AD, or Ping, and experience configuring SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning for Slack.
  • Experience integrating Slack with SIEM/DLP tools (e.g., Splunk, Netskope, Smarsh).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and optimize our Slack Enterprise Grid topology, ensuring the workspace structure aligns with business units, security boundaries, and scaling needs.
  • Design and govern the integration pipeline. You will lead the development of custom Slack apps using the Slack Bolt framework and Next-Gen platform (Deno/CLI).
  • Champion the use of Slack Workflow Builder and custom integrations to automate cross-functional business processes (e.g., IT ticketing, HR onboarding, DevOps alerts).
  • Implement and maintain enterprise-grade security controls, including Enterprise Key Management (EKM), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, and Information Barriers.
  • Define and enforce global governance policies for workspace creation, app approvals, guest access, and retention policies.
  • Architect a secure strategy for Slack Connect, managing shared channels and multi-workspace networks with external partners and vendors.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact with Slack/Salesforce engineering and product teams to influence the platform roadmap.
  • Guide a team of Slack administrators and engineers, establishing best practices for code deployment, CI/CD pipelines for apps, and platform health.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Slack Certified Administrator
  • Slack Certified Developer
  • Salesforce/Slack Certified Consultant
