As part of its transformation around Data, AI and Agentic AI, our client, a leading player in the insurance industry, is launching a strategic initiative to design and implement a Semantic Layer.

This layer will sit between enterprise data and AI/LLM models, enabling AI solutions to better understand the business vocabulary, concepts, relationships and rules specific to the insurance industry.

The objective of the project is therefore to assess and compare the different architectural and technology options, define the target architecture and contribute to the selection of the most relevant solution to build this Semantic Layer and support future Data, Analytics, AI and Agentic AI use cases.

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect with strong experience in Data & AI, Enterprise Architecture and BI/Analytics, who can bridge the gap between business requirements, data and emerging AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data & AI Solution Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Define and document the target architecture for the Semantic Layer, in line with the company's Data, AI and Enterprise Architecture strategy.
  • Assess and compare different architectural approaches and technology solutions for implementing a Semantic Layer.
  • Analyse the interactions between the Semantic Layer, data sources, Data platforms, BI/Analytics solutions, AI/ML models, LLMs and AI agents.
  • Identify and formalise the business concepts, terminology, relationships and business rules required for AI solutions to understand the insurance business context.
  • Gather functional and non-functional requirements and ensure that the proposed architecture addresses key requirements including performance, security, scalability, governance and integration.
  • Evaluate market technologies and platforms and lead or contribute to RFI, RFP and POC activities required to assess and select the target solution.
  • Design integration architectures with existing systems and the wider enterprise IT landscape.
  • Contribute to the definition of a Data & AI reference architecture, including architecture principles, patterns, standards, rules and best practices.
  • Produce architecture documentation and present proposed solutions to Architecture Governance Boards.
  • Provide architectural guidance and support to Data, AI, BI and development teams during implementation.
  • Contribute to the definition of the company's Data & AI strategy and ensure alignment with the overall IT strategy.
  • Drive technology watch and awareness around LLMs, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies, Semantic Layers, Data Products and Data Governance.
