SAP Tax Consultant

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Hybrid)

Role Summary

The SAP Tax Consultant will support a large-scale global SAP S/4HANA transformation program by leading the design, deployment, and support of tax-related processes and solutions. The consultant will work closely with Global Process Owners, Finance, Tax, and Compliance stakeholders to ensure tax requirements are incorporated into the global template while maintaining compliance with local and regional regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP S/4HANA tax processes and solutions.
  • Collaborate with Global Template Leads and business stakeholders to gather and validate tax requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with indirect tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Analyze tax-related process gaps and recommend scalable SAP solutions aligned with the global template.
  • Support integrations between Finance, Procurement, Order-to-Cash, and tax-related processes.
  • Participate in SIT, UAT, defect resolution, deployment, and hypercare activities.
  • Support tax reporting, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Develop documentation and provide knowledge transfer to business users and support teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of SAP experience with strong expertise in SAP Tax and SAP Finance (FI).
  • Extensive SAP S/4HANA implementation and global rollout experience.
  • Strong understanding of indirect taxes, VAT/GST, withholding tax, and statutory reporting processes.
  • Experience supporting tax localization and compliance requirements within global SAP programs.
  • Experience working on large-scale transformation programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a global, matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting global SAP template deployments.
  • Experience with compliance, audit, and financial controls.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori and S/4HANA best practices.
