Senior Functional SAP S/4HANA P2P / MM Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Functional SAP S/4HANA P2P / MM Lead to drive the design and optimization of our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Materials Management (MM) business processes for a full S/4HANA Greenfield implementation.

In this role, you will be the core functional authority responsible for planning and leading business process workshops, translating business needs into standard S/4HANA capabilities, and guiding key stakeholders through process transformation. The ideal candidate brings deep functional expertise, strong workshop facilitation skills, and mandatory experience delivering SAP solutions within a validated GxP environment.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Facilitation & Process Design: Lead interactive design workshops with business leaders and end-users to gather requirements, analyze existing workflows, and drive fit-to-standard alignment on S/4HANA P2P/MM capabilities.

Greenfield Implementation Leadership: Architect and configure end-to-end P2P and MM processes (e.g., Direct/Indirect Procurement, Inventory Management, Goods Movement, Valuation, Vendor Master, and Invoice Verification) from a clean slate.

Process Improvement: Identify gaps between business requirements and standard SAP functionality, driving process redesign to minimize custom code and leverage industry best practices.

GxP Compliance & Validation: Ensure all solution designs, functional specifications, and process flows adhere strictly to GxP regulatory compliance and internal validation standards.

Cross-Functional Integration: Partner closely with technical teams (ABAP/Fiori) and leads across adjacent functional streams (SD, FI/CO, EWM/WM, Quality Management) to ensure seamless integration.

Documentation & Testing: Prepare high-quality functional specifications, test scripts, and process maps; support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system validation efforts.

Key Qualifications

SAP Functional Expertise: 10+ years of hands-on functional experience in SAP MM / P2P, with demonstrated expertise on at least one full-lifecycle S/4HANA Greenfield implementation.

GxP Requirement (Mandatory): Successful delivery of at least 1 full SAP implementation in a regulated GxP environment (Life Sciences, Biotech, Pharma, or Med-Tech).

Workshop Leadership: Proven ability to lead fit-to-standard workshops, negotiate process changes, and influence business stakeholders toward standard SAP functionality.

Location Preference: Based in the Northeast US to facilitate occasional team alignment and minimal travel requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct background or prior project experience within the Med-Tech or Medical Device manufacturing industry.

Formal SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement certification.

Familiarity with SAP Fiori applications, SAP Ariba, or integrated quality control (QM) processes.
