Location : 2-3 days per week onsite in Milan, Italy

Language : Fluent in English – French & Italian would be a plus

The candidate will join the SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) team, where they will design and develop custom solutions on SAP platforms, with a strong emphasis on scalability, performance optimization, and adherence to SAP best practices and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Translating functional requirement into technical specification ensuring adherence to ABAP best practices
• Design, build, test and deliver solutions for the client activities in accordance with agreed methodology, timeframe and level of quality
• Design and implement Proof of Concept for new integrations leveraging on innovative SAP technologies and methodologies
• Attend technical design workshops and deliver solutions which correctly translate business needs, IT simplicity and proper adoption of SAP solutions
• Participate in deep-dive technical aspects and control the development process across all domains
• Produce proper technical specification documents (TSD) and unit testing documents (TUT)
• Provide knowledge transfer of new implementations to AMS Dev team
• Support critical activities (for e.g. smoke tests and dry runs) during the cutover/go-live & hypercare phases
• Review existing SAP developments and make sure that they are according to the agreed quality standards

Competences and skills looked for

• Highly experienced in ABAP including: AdobeForms, Reports, BDC, User exits, BAPI, BADI, ALE/IDOC, ABAP OOPS and Workflow.
• Strong experience on integration patterns, like proxies, IDOCs, OData and AIF 
• Knowledgeable on CDS implementation 
• SAP FIORI and experience with databases (e.g. SAP HANA), as well as BTP services, will be considered as a plus
• Good interpersonal skills / ability to create a relationship with other colleagues, even outside the tech team
• Good team player with a service-oriented mindset
• Nice to have: previous experience on Retail/Fashion SAP integration & development technologies
