Each month, we recognize a K2 consultant whose outstanding performance, expertise, and unwavering commitment have led to exceptional client feedback on their recent projects. This month, the K2 Consultant of the Month is Antoine Chen, an SAP EWM, MM, and WM Consultant. Find out more by reading his interview below:
Tell us a little bit about yourself.“I am a Senior Consultant specializing in SAP MM (Materials Management), WM (Warehouse Management), and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management). I have about 27 years of experience in the industry, and I’m currently based in Taiwan.”
Tell us a little about your most recent K2 project.“My most recent K2 project was with a leading cosmetics company in Taiwan, where I collaborated with a global consulting firm. The project involved streamlining and automating key business processes related to inventory management and supply chain logistics using K2 and SAP solutions. It was a complex, large-scale implementation, but it was incredibly rewarding to see how these solutions helped enhance the operational efficiency of a globally recognized brand.”
What do you enjoy most about your job?“What I enjoy most about being an SAP consultant is the dynamic nature of the projects I work on. Every project is different and challenges me to think critically and creatively to solve problems. I also enjoy the collaborative environment and working with different teams, both locally and globally, to create tailored solutions for clients. The fact that I’m always learning and adapting to new technologies and business processes keeps me engaged and motivated. I love seeing the positive impact our work can have on an organization, especially when it leads to more efficient operations and better decision-making.”
How do you think AI will impact your field over the next couple of years?“I believe AI has the potential to significantly impact the SAP consulting field, but there are still a lot of unknowns. On one hand, AI could automate many routine tasks, such as data entry, report generation, and even some levels of decision-making, which could streamline processes and reduce time spent on manual work. However, the human element is still critical, especially in consulting, where understanding client needs, communicating effectively, and offering tailored solutions are essential. While AI can assist in these areas, I believe there will always be a need for human consultants who can build relationships, understand complex business problems, and provide strategic insights.”
What advice would you give to someone who is starting out as a freelance IT consultant?“My advice would be to ensure you have a strong foundation in IT knowledge, particularly in the area you want to specialize in—whether it’s SAP, cloud computing, cybersecurity, or another domain. Continuous learning is key because the technology landscape is always evolving.”
