Our strength at K2 has always been that we are able to help our clients in niche areas, providing consultants that most other firms can’t.

One of the toughest areas in which to find consultants is Hybris. The immature nature of the consultant market means  we must rely on the hard work and talents of our recruiters and sales professionals to understand where the technology is headed and find the best professionals around.

Hybris, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, provides omni-channel customer engagement and commerce solutions. The software company was founded in 1997 and acquired by SAP in 2013. SAP Hybris is essentially the cloud version of SAP E-commerce, just as SuccessFactors is to SAP HR and Simple Finance is to SAP FI.

SAP Hybris allows large and midsized companies to streamline all their channels to allow for a better user experience. In the U.S., some of the larger Hybris implementations are taking place at Starbucks, Grainger and Home Depot. Hybris has partnered with many system integrators, such as Accenture, Cognizant and Deloitte, to construct and execute successful implementations. Globally, their clients include Aubert, Samsung and Fendi to name a few.

Due to their scarcity, Hybris consultants, across all levels, are often paid premium rates compared to typical SAP E-commerce consultants. Rates for Hybris Developers, who use  a java-based language, rarely slide below the $100/hr mark. Higher level consultants can garner upwards of $175/hr. Most of these professionals come from marketing and e-commerce backgrounds. They aren’t necessarily SAP-focused but tend to share a history of helping large organizations deliver outstanding customer experience .

Hybris is one of the markets where K2 isn’t just sourcing the best consultants, we are actually helping to grow the pool of freelance Hybris talent by offering learning and retraining opportunities through the K2 SAP Learning Hub.

Independent, top-tier, Hybris professionals are a rare commodity – but this is exactly the kind of market that K2 excels in. Our unparalleled research which maps Hybris talent pools, clients and major implementations, coupled with our outstanding relationships with Hybris professionals means that K2 can provide the Hybris expertise you need, when you need it.
