SAP has released its results for Q3 2018, with continuing acceleration of cloud adoption the highlight of a strong quarter.

Total revenue was up 8% year-over-year, growing to €6.02 billion. 22% of this revenue now comes from cloud-based solutions. New cloud bookings increased by 36% in the quarter bringing the number of S/4HANA customers to 9,500 in total.

The company expects that half of its current 30,000 ECC6 ERP customers to transfer to S/4HANA by 2020. The company stated: “Customers in the Americas and parts of EMEA were moving faster than expected to cloud and hybrid models.”

Other news included cloud subscriptions and support revenues increasing by a massive 39% year-over-year. Meanwhile, more companies began to invest in SAP’s Leonardo, with the ‘digital toolbox’ for artificial intelligence, internet of things and blockchain, now counting the Chint Group and Deloitte as clients.
