Read our interview with Tito below.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I have been working as an SAP consultant for 10 years, with prior experience on IT projects. Currently I am based near Lisbon, Portugal. I have worked in several European countries, like Scandinavia, UK, Switzerland and Spain. My main focus within SAP is on Retail/FMS solutions, specifically Master Data.
What was your most recent K2 project?
K2 contacted me with a project role in SAP FMS with one of the main global fashion companies. The main challenge was implementing a master data governance strategy, on the technical side the integration of the strategy was with several legacy systems both with an inbound and outbound perspective.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Being able to work with various customers and dealing with people who come from different cultures. I like learning from others’ experiences and how they work. The possibility of traveling to different countries/cities and getting to know the cities too.
Which technical development do you think will have the biggest impact on your field over the next few years?
What advice would you give to someone starting out as a freelance IT consultant?
My advice would be:
1. Perseverance – working as a SAP consultant can be frustrating. However, it’s crucial to maintain self-motivation and never give up when facing a difficult situation. A problem is an opportunity to improve.
2. Open mind – Keep yourself open to new ideas, it’s the only way for you to improve yourself and with that be able to better help your customers.
3. Keep yourself up to date – the SAP world is changing on a daily basis, keep up to date with the innovations to be able to suggest the best solutions to customers.
