Each month we recognise a K2 consultant who has received outstanding client feedback on their recent project.
This month the K2 Consultant of the Month is Christian Paul Pach, an ABAP Fiori / SAPUI5 Consultant. Read our interview with him below.
Tell us a bit about yourself, for example, which technologies do you specialise in? How long you have been working as a consultant? Where are you based
Tell us a little about your most recent K2 project. What was being implemented, what were the technical challenges, how were they overcome etc?
I was at Disensa Colômbia, of LafargeHolcim. We created apps with front-end SAPUI5, launching in the Fiori Launchpad of the front-end server and back-end ECC and inside Zebra MC33 data collectors.
The biggest challenge was the technical limitations of the MC33 collector. We had to develop the interface and usability for a little screen with 400×500 resolution. We also had to develop handlers and parsers to integrate the reading of the codes of 2D and 3S bars of MC33 with Fiori.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I like to challenge myself to learn more. I also love working with a range of different clients and technologies.
Which technical development do you think will have the biggest impact on your field or the wider world of IT over the next couple of years?
Many companies are migrating from ECC to S4/HANA. I believe that in the next few years, the new migrations and the projects involving S4/HANA will have a huge impact in the SAP and Global IT areas.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting out as a freelance IT consultant?
Study a lot! And hone in on new technologies so you don’t fall behind!
