Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am self-motivated professional who likes to learn new technologies especially related to Salesforce and Marketing Cloud. I am doing consulting for 15 years and I am based out of Nashville
What was your most recent K2 project?
My client is in the business of selling auto insurance and they want to improve their lead conversions into actual policy holder. Its’ important for them to reach out to each lead with personalised content. I did the Journey Builder implementation in Marketing Cloud to read the various Salesforce to send the personalised emails in near real-time. I ran into several challenges around the marketing cloud configuration and how Journey’s work with Salesforce. It was difficult to resolve issues technically because not enough information was available on the forums and no debug log is available in the marketing cloud to clients to understand the issue. I overcome the issues by writing the data back to the Salesforce objects and using the reporting available in Marketing cloud.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy learning different client’s businesses, solve problems, or improve processes using the technological solutions. I like seeing the processes from high level but also able to help on the detail level.
Which technical development do you think will have the biggest impact on your field over the next few years?
We are going to see lot more products moving into the cloud and Salesforce expanding its breadth of available products in the cloud space either innovation or acquisitions.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting out as a freelance IT consultant?
Be hands on whatever role you do and work on variety of projects and gain knowledge.
