Each month we recognise a K2 consultant who has received outstanding client feedback on their recent project.
This month the K2 Consultant of the Month is Aleh Pratasenia, an SAP ABAP consultant from Belarus.
Read our interview with Aleh below.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I specialize in software development for SAP software-driven systems. I have been working as a consultant for 5 years with experience in SAP ABAP as well as deep technical background in SAP ERP functional modules such as MM, SD, PM, FI, FI-AA. Lately, I have also been touching on the new SAP technologies such as Native HANA platform (XSA) and S/HANA solution. I’m based in Minsk, Republic of Belarus.
What was your most recent K2 project?
My recent K2 project was developing an eVAT portal integration module for SAP ERP. I’ve implemented ABAP service classes for electronic documents exchange with Web Portal using security standards and protocols specified by the portal’s owners. I was facing some technical restrictions of the COM/OLE API interface which was provided by the portal for developers, but nevertheless I found a solution which was accepted by the client. Also, it was sometimes a need to communicate with technical support of the Portal to report issues in the portal’s functionality.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I like the process of investigating something new. The IT industry allows me to be myself and free in the big ocean of new information and modern technologies as well as many interesting tasks and other challenges to deal with.
Which technical development do you think will have the biggest impact on your field over the next few years?
I think it would be IoT, BigData, and AI/Machine Learning technologies. SAP is the global leader in the ERP world and will try to be on top of mentioned technologies over the next two to five years because SAP produce a lot of software that could potentially be significantly improved when new technologies are implemented.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting out as a freelance IT consultant?
To keep yourself up to date in terms of new technologies, daily and be ready for hard work and lack of time -but never give up!
